IDDE Outreach Toolkit

IDDE Toolkit for Clean Water Protection Outreach

NEW icon imageACWA is committed to working closely with our Member Agencies to improve Oregon’s water quality. We are excited to provide our members access to an educational and action-focused illicit discharge detection and elimination (IDDE) water quality protection outreach toolkit. This toolkit was developed through a collaboration of ACWA’s Stormwater, Groundwater, Water Quality, Pretreatment and Education Committees. Use this toolkit to promote: spill prevention; best practices in landscaping by residents and professional landscapers; effective RV waste management; proper food service practices; and, best practices by at home including car and pressure washing and hazardous materials disposal.

The toolkit, which includes posters, flyers, radio and television scripts, and press releases, is available for members to download, print, and distribute within their respective communities. A space is available on each piece for member agencies to add contact information.

While these materials were developed for agencies with Underground Injection Control (UIC) permits, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) implementation plans, they are applicable to your agency, regardless of region or regulatory status. We hope that they will resonate with all audiences across Oregon. In addition to supporting individual agencies’ regulatory requirements, the material supports our collective mission to protect Oregon’s water quality.

We hope you will put these products to good use…keeping water safe and clean in your community. Questions regarding the materials can be directed to ACWA Education Committee Chair, Holly Tichenor at htichenor@wsc-inc.com.
